Oklahoma man Claims $2.1 Million Hot Lotto Jackpot!
Retired National Guardsman James Nunn has claimed the winning Hot Lotto ticket worth $2.1M from the July 2 drawing. Taking the cash option, Nunn walks away with $1.3M and dreams of a new home.
A native Oklahoman, Nunn has spent most of his life in California serving in the United States National Guard. Due to health reasons, he ended his tour of duty and moved to Henryetta, Okla. in 1993 to be near his father and brother.
“I enjoyed the National Guard and the U.S. Veteran’s Affairs has taken good care of me,” said 49-year-old Nunn. “I never imagined I would win the Lottery but I’ve been wondering why I’ve had to deal with so many setbacks and maybe this is why.”
Nunn said he doesn’t get excited about too many things but winning $1.3M is topping the list right now. He is currently recovering from having his appendix removed and should be back on his feet in a few more weeks.
“I’ve already started looking at houses,” he said. “I want to build a new home close to town with a pool. I’ve always wanted a swimming pool.”
Nunn purchased his ticket at the 1st Street Shell in Henryetta. |

New Mexico Man Shares $2 Million Hot Lotto Jackpot!
A Farmington man has claimed his share of the August 4th Hot Lotto jackpot. Edward Boyd and a player in Minnesota both had tickets with the jackpot winning numbers. Boyd and the Minnesota player will share the estimated $2 million annuity jackpot equally. Each winner can choose between an estimated $1 million annuity option and a $588,818 pre-tax cash option.
Boyd, 51, buys both Hot Lotto and Powerball tickets every Wednesday and Saturday at the 7-2-11 Food Store in Farmington. Even though he knew a winning jackpot ticket had been sold in New Mexico, Boyd was in no hurry to check his ticket. The winning ticket languished in his truck for several days until Boyd sold the vehicle and began cleaning it out for the new owner. “The ticket was in a trash bag in my living room,” Boyd said. He plans to use the prize to help his family and invest the remainder in real estate. |

Second Time's the Charm for Minnesota Man!
It may have only been the second time Ebenezer Longe of Minneapolis purchased a Hot Lotto ticket, but that's all it took. A ticket Longe
purchased for the Aug. 4 drawing was one of two sold to match all six winning numbers to win half of the $2 million jackpot.
Longe says he is a regular player of Powerball and other Minnesota games, but decided to try Hot Lotto
after a store clerk at Bryn Mawr Market in Minneapolis recommended the game. “I didn't win on the first ticket
so I wasn't interested in buying another one,” said Longe. Until the store clerk convinced him otherwise.
“He told me, ‘You need to buy Hot Lotto, there's a better chance of winning,'” recalled Longe. So he decided
to give the game another try — and the clerk's persistence paid off for Longe in a big way! |
